Local 26 Members,
There were dramatic results in the Virginia elections, including a 13-seat swing in the House of Delegates. Thank you to all who voted and knocked doors and phone banked in the elections!
At Local 26 we focused our campaign efforts on those areas where our potential work opportunities are growing, with data center development moving down the I-95 corridor and into central Virginia.
Our strategy was successful, in that we elected state and local candidates in Stafford, Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Prince William, and other areas who are SUPPORTIVE OF UNION JOBS. We now have friends on both sides of the aisle who understand the value that IBEW Local 26 adds to the workforce and the economy.
When the General Assembly meets in January, we will be there to hold these elected officials accountable for our priorities.
We invite you to stay engaged by participating in future meetings with elected officials at the local and state government level who will be making development decisions on permitting and zoning that expand our work opportunities.
