Organizing is the foundation of the IBEW. At Local 26, we’re committed to improving the lives of electrical workers by helping them gain the wages, benefits, and respect they deserve. Whether you’re a journeyman, apprentice, or helper, organizing gives you the opportunity to build a better future both on and off the job.

  • To assure that every worker enjoys the full benefit of IBEW representation and membership for a better quality of life.

  • To achieve the power to set the terms and conditions of employment of every worker for a better standard of living.

  • To elevate the economic, political and social standing of every worker in our community and society.

  • To enable the IBEW to play a positive and stabilizing role for the benefit of the industry participants, customers and community at large.

  • To assume a leading role in the revitalizing of the Labor Movement.

  • To organize all workers in the entire electrical industry in the United States and Canada, including all those in public utilities and electrical manufacturing, into local unions;

  • To promote reasonable methods of work;

  • To cultivate feelings of friendship among those in our industry;

  • To settle all disputes between employers and employees by arbitration (if possible);

  • To assist each other in sickness or distress;

  • To secure employment;

  • To reduce the hours of daily labor;

  • To seek higher and higher standard of living;

  • To seek security for the individual;

  • And, by legal and proper means, to elevate the moral, intellectual, and social conditions of our members, their families, and dependents, in the interest of a higher standard of citizenship.
